Gareth Ackerman
Gareth Ackerman’s expertise is built on many years of industry experience across multi-levels and aspects of the retail industry, Family Business, Investment, Philanthropy and Consulting. Having read a BSocSci degree at the University of Cape Town, he completed a CMS in Family Business at Oxford. He is currently Chairman of Pick ‘n Pay Holdings Limited (Pikwik) and sits on all the group’s Board committees. He is a board member for a number of companies and a trustee of Foundations and Trusts and Chairs the Ackerman/Pick ‘n Pay Foundations. He is executive chairman and co-founder of Pleiad Capital, and as such is very involved with Pleiad’s Private Equity investments and Corporate Finance and Strategic Consulting advisory activities. He is also actively involved with the Young Presidents Organisation. He Chairs the Summit Committee of CIES the World Food Forum and sits on its Board. He is a speaker at international retail conferences and a regular lecturer at various universities.

Chris Barrie
Chris Barrie retired from the military in July 2002 at the end of over 41 years of active service in the Royal Australian Navy, culminating in the last four years as the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) in Australia. Since leaving the military Chris has been working on aspects of strategic leadership drawn from his own practical experience, and research, as these could assist the next generation of leaders of complex and diverse organisations to be successful. For his work in the military he has also been honoured by the Governments of Australia, the United States of America, and Singapore.

Tracey Camilleri
Tracey Camilleri is Associate Fellow of the Saïd Business School, Oxford. She has been a Tutor on the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme and has taught on numerous company-specific programmes at the School specialising in internal communications and organisational behaviour. After working as a business analyst with strategy consultants, Bain and Company, Tracey joined the investment bank, Allen and Company, in New York. On her return to the UK, she joined the Board of Marshall Cavendish Ltd. before setting up her own management consultancy in London, in 1996. At WMC Communications Ltd., she led teams working particularly for large financial services and consulting firms.

Hugh Crisp
Hugh Crisp is a Partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, specialising in the areas of people and development, working practices and efficiency. He was previously Chief Executive from April 2004 until March 2006, having been a managing partner since 1998.

Ian Davis
Ian Davis is the worldwide managing director of McKinsey & Company. In his 25 years with the firm, Ian has advised multinational companies, mostly in consumer industries, on a range of strategic, marketing, and organizational issues.

Noreen Doyle
Noreen Doyle is an independent director on the boards of Credit Suisse Group (Zurich), Newmont Mining Corporation (Denver), QinetiQ (UK), and Rexam PLC. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a Director of the Sarita Kenedy East Foundation (New York).In August 2005, Noreen completed her four-year term as First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Rona Fairhead
Rona Fairhead is Chief Financial Officer of Pearson plc. She joined Pearson in October 2001 as deputy finance director, and became finance director in June 2002.

Dr John Hood
Dr John Hood is Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford. Before coming to Oxford, Dr Hood was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Auckland for five and half years. Prior to his return to academia, Dr Hood spent 18 years with one of New Zealand's largest companies, Fletcher Challenge Ltd.

Mirinda Iseger-Martin
Mirinda Iseger is the founder and managing partner of William Brinn & Company, a Dutch consulting firm specialising in organisational change and practical research into end to end talent management. Previous to establishing William Brinn and Company, Mirinda spent nine years working for Oracle Corporation, as a Senior Director, managing their Education and Research division across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Dr Arvind Joshi
Dr. Arvind K. Joshi is Chief Executive Officer at St. Mary’s Hospital Center in Montreal. He is an associate professor at McGill University and a member of the corporation of Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of Concordia University and sits on several University committees.

Sir Anthony Kenny
Sir Anthony Kenny is a philosopher whose interests lie in the philosophy of mind, scholastic and ancient philosophy, the philosophy of Wittgenstein and the philosophy of religion. He is an Honorary Fellow of Balliol College and was Master of Balliol from 1978 to 1989, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University from 1984 to 2002. He was also president of the British Academy.

Dr Julie Maxton
Dr Julie Maxton is the Registrar of Oxford University and a Fellow of University College, Oxford. She read Law at University College London and was called to the Bar at the Middle Temple. She then became an academic lawyer while continuing to practice as a barrister. Specialising in trusts and commercial law, Julie has held faculty positions in the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. In recent years Julie has held senior administrative positions at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, including successively Dean of the Law Faculty, Dean of Graduate Studies and Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Sir Derek Morris
Sir Derek Morris is Provost of Oriel College, Oxford, Chairman of the Competition Commission, (formerly the Monopolies and Mergers Commission); Governor of the National Institute for Economic and Social Research. He has published widely on economic topics, most recently on economic reform in Chinese enterprises.

Roberto Murray Meza
Roberto H. Murray Meza is Chairman of a leading consortium of companies in El Salvador and Central America. The Agrisal Group has interests in Real Estate, Hospitality, Tourism and Agro Industry. Mr. Murray was nominated as a member of the AccountAbility Council of London in 2006. He received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in the Social Sciences by the Salesian University of Don Bosco in El Salvador. He is a trustee of the Aspen Institute in the United States. He is a graduate of Yale, Middlebury College and Harvard.

Rene Olivieri
René Olivieri is Chief Operating Officer of Wiley-Blackwell, one of the world’s leading scientific and scholarly publishers. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of Blackwell Publishing. He has a BA from the University of Oregon and an MA from John Hopkins University in the US. He is a co-opted member of the Council Association of Learned Professional and Society Publishers and represents associate members. He is a frequent speaker and author on current topics in publishing.

John Page
John Page is the Chief Economist of the Africa Region at the World Bank. He provides strategic and intellectual leadership in setting the Bank’s agenda for Africa and guides the Region’s programme of analytical and advisory work.
He has been a World Bank economist and manager since 1980, undertaking a wide range of research, policy and operational assignments, including Chief Economist of the Middle East and North Africa Region, Director, Poverty Reduction, and Director, Economic Policy. Dr. Page obtained his Bachelors degree in economics from Stanford University and his Doctorate from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

Professor Paul Robertson
Professor Paul Robertson is the leader and founding member of the internationally renowned Medici String Quartet. Paul is also interested in the applications of music to education and health and presented the Channel 4 series, Music and the Mind.

Clare Short
Clare Short is the Member of Parliament for Birmingham Ladywood, and was Secretary of State for International Development from May 2, 1997 until her resignation on May 12, 2003. She is also author of "An Honourable Deception? New Labour, Iraq, and the Misuse of Power".

Kim Wai Soo
Kim Wai Soo is Group Managing Director of Amcorp Group Berhard in Malaysia. He is a Chartered Accountant (Malaysian Institute of Accountants) and a Certified Public Accountant (Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants). He also serves on the Board of AMMB Holding Berhad, AmProperty Trust Management Berhad, MCM Technologies Berhad and RCE Capital Berhad.

Mark Thompson
Mark Thompson is Director-General of the BBC, after having been Chief Executive of Channel 4 since December 2001. Mark Thompson was previously Director of National and Regional Broadcasting. He was appointed Editor of the Nine O'Clock News in 1988 and Editor of Panorama in 1990.

Sophia Tickell
Sophia Tickell is the Chair of SustainAbility, a strategy consultancy and independent think tank specialising in the business risks and market opportunities of corporate responsibility and sustainable development.

Tom Trkla
Tom Trkla is the Founding Partner, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Brookwood Financial Partners, L.P., a US-based private equity investment firm. He is a graduate of Princeton University and received his Master of Management degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a director of Verticalsoftware.com, Adfluence, Inc., The Massachusetts Campaign for Children and the Princeton Association of New England, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute.

Sir Dwight Venner CBE
Sir Dwight Venner is Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. An Economist, he gained his degrees at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica where he was subsequently a Junior Research Fellow and also Lecturer in Economics. He has written extensively on Economics. He has an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies. He was Director of Finance and Planning in the St Lucian Government between 1981 and 1989.

Marshall Young
Marshall Young directs, and teaches on the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme at Saïd Business School. He is a Fellow of Green Templeton College, of which he was formerly Dean and Vice-President. Marshall also consults widely with companies on leadership and strategy development.
