Jeff Hewitt was Group Finance Director and Deputy Chairman of Electrocomponents during a period of rapid international expansion until retiring in 2005. Previously, he was Finance Director of Unitech up to its acquisition by Invensys in 1996 and was responsible for the IPO in Japan of Unitech's Japanese subsidiary. From 1981 to 1991 he was Finance Director, Divisional Chief Executive and Strategy Director with Carrington Viyella, Vantona Viyella and Coats Viyella respectively. He started his career with Arthur Andersen and then with The Boston Consulting Group.
He is now Non-executive Director and Audit Committee Chairman of Cookson Group (a specialist materials business) and Cenkos Securities (a stockbroker), Deputy Chairman of ZincOx Resources (a mining and recycling business) and Chairman of Regenersis (an electronics repair and mobile phone recycling business). He is also the External Chairman of the Audit Committee of the John Lewis Partnership (the retailer) and Chairs the Electrocomponents Pension Trustees. He has served on the Government's Industrial Advisory Development Board and is a past member of the Advisory Forum of the Said Business School, Oxford University. He is on the Advisory Board of the Oxford Philomusica Orchestra.
Jeff Hewitt is an FCA and has an MBA from Stanford University and a First Class Honours degree in Chemistry from Oxford University having studied at St. Catherine's College.
